Motorola Device

The Motorola Droid, well known for the “Droid Does” commercials, is designed by Motorola, built on Google’s Android platform and exclusively distributed by Verizon Wireless. If these three giants working together to create the Motorola Android phone isn’t amazing enough, Motorola Droid, or just “Droid” can benefit from corporate email synchronization using hosted Exchange from Apps4Rent.

RIM (Research In Motion) has long held the enterprise market with BlackBerry, and Apple’s iPhone isn’t far behind. Phones built on the Android platform have stayed in the solid third for market reach. However, marketed as the iPhone alternative, Motorola Android phone sales reached 1.05 million during the first 74 days it was available, according to the mobile analytics firm, Flurry. While overall sales numbers between iPhone and Motorola Droid have Apple in a solid lead, initial sales for “Droid” were overwhelming.

Why is the Motorola Android phone such a big deal?

The Motorola Droid offers a slick design with an embedded 5MP camera, image stabilization, scene modes, location tagging and DVD quality resolution playback. The Motorola Android phone also comes packed with a 550 mHz Arm® Cortex™ A8 processor and a pre-installed 16GB microSD card expandable to 32GB.

Simply put, the Motorola Android Phone is more than capable of handling anything users demand of it, and then some. The physical features of the Motorola Droid are comprised of an internal antenna, 3.7 inch TFT (thin film transfer) display, weighs just 6oz and is 2.4in x 4.6in. As well, Motorola Droid offers an HTML5 webkit (newest HTML technology), stereo Bluetooth technology, WiFi capabilities and a micro USB. GPS and location services, text/tele compatibility, advanced speech recognition, conference calling and phone book with a unified Gmail, Exchange and Facebook contact list all help the mobile business traveler.

To add even more “big” to “deal”, Motorola Android phone also comes with included applications such as:

Gmail
Google Calendar
Google Goggles
Google Latitude
Google Maps
YouTube
Amazon MP3 Store
Google Voice Search
Google News and Weather Widgets

Finally, Motorola Droid comes with Android Market, which offers over 35,000 – and growing – applications for fun, travel, business, sports and finance. The Motorola Droid offers hosted Exchange connectivity for mobile corporate employees and a whole lot more.
As of June 2010, Verizon Wireless is still the only wireless carrier that offers the Motorola Android phone.
