Working with Public Folders in Outlook Web Access (OWA)

You can use Outlook Web Access to create, delete, move, and copy public folders. However, to do this you need to have appropriate rights. To get relevant rights for Public Folder; please contact your Companies Administrator (person who provided) you the login details for your Apps4Rent Hosted Exchange 2007 Account.

To create a new public folder.

1. In the Navigation Pane, click Public Folders to view the list of all public folders that are available to you.
2. Right-click the public folder in which you want to create a new public folder.
3. Click Create New Folder.
4. Click the type of folder that you want to create.
5. Type a name for your new public folder.
6. To save your changes, press ENTER.

Note To view your new folder in the public folder list, you may have to refresh your browser.

To delete a public folder.

1. In the Navigation Pane, click Public Folders to view the list of all public folders that are available to you.
2. Right-click the public folder that you want to delete.
3. Click Delete on the menu.

To rename a public folder.

1. In the Navigation Pane, click Public Folders to view the list of all public folders that are available to you.
2. Right-click the public folder that you want to rename, and then click Rename.
3. Type the new folder name, and then press ENTER.

To move or copy a public folder

You can move or copy a public folder by using the following methods.

By using drag-and-drop editing.

1. In the Navigation Pane, click Public Folders to view the list of all public folders that are available to you.
2. To move a public folder, drag it to the location that you want.
3. To copy a public folder, hold down the CTRL key as you drag the folder to the location that you want. A plus sign will appear next to the pointer as you drag the copy.

By using the right-click menu.

1. In the Navigation Pane, click Public Folders to view the list of all public folders that are available to you.
2. Right-click on the folder that you want to move or copy, and then click Move Folder or Copy Folder from the menu. A new window will appear that shows the folders that you can move or copy to. Select the folder that you want to move or copy to, and then click Move or Copy.
3. You can also create a new folder to move or copy to by clicking Create New Folder in the Move to Folder or Copy to Folder window.
