How to add additional IPs in Fedora core server?

Adding additional IPs in Fedora core server

This discussion refers to Fedora Linux servers hosted on Apps4Rent’s Hyper-v virtual dedicated server platform.

You would need to contact support for additional IPs. Additional IPs are billed separately.

Login to FC (Fedora Core ) server.
Please use the command: cd /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts

To check the file run command ls
You will see files like

ifcfg-eth0
ifcfg-eth0:1

Use the
cp ifcfg-eth0:1 ifcfg-eth0:2

This will create a copy of eth0:1 file to eth0:2. then edit ifcfg-eth0:2 using your editor.

vi ifcfg-eth0:2
Change eth0:1 in it to eth0:2, change ip as per requirement, save and exit.

ifup eth0:2

In the same way add eth0:3, eth0:4 ….

You can check anytime which IPs are already configured by using command
ifconfig
