{"id":5097,"date":"2010-07-19T01:16:18","date_gmt":"2010-07-19T05:16:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/apps4rent.com\/support\/?p=5097"},"modified":"2024-09-30T18:20:00","modified_gmt":"2024-09-30T18:20:00","slug":"how-to-configure-out-of-office-replies-in-entourage-2004","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.apps4rent.com\/support\/kb\/article\/how-to-configure-out-of-office-replies-in-entourage-2004","title":{"rendered":"How to configure Out-of-Office replies in Entourage 2004?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Do you know how to configure &#8216;Out-of-Office&#8217; replies in Entourage 2004?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Microsoft Entourage does not provide an &#8216;Out of Office Assistant&#8217; for setting an automatic response to messages you receive while you are out of the office; however, it is possible to set up such an automatic response in one of the three ways. <strong>Entourage 2008 now includes Out-of-Office:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use Outlook Web Access<\/li>\n<li>Configure a rule in Microsoft Entourage<\/li>\n<li>Use a third party application<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please make sure your reply does not get sent to any mailing lists as a mail loop can result and make you very unpopular!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Sending Out-of-Office reply in Entourage 2004 by using Outlook Web Access<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>By using the Out of Office Assistant in Outlook Web Access (OWA), you can enable or disable the Out of Office Assistant in OWA from any computer with internet access while you are on or off campus. It does not involve setting up any special rules in Entourage.<\/p>\n<p>Log in to OWA and select <em>Options<\/em> from the left column. Under <strong>Out of Office Assistant<\/strong> select <em>I&#8217;m currently out of the office<\/em> and enter any AutoReply text to be returned to the sender.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Sending Out of Office reply in Entourage 2004 by <\/strong><strong><strong>c<\/strong>onfiguring a rule in Microsoft Entourage<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Note: A Rule would require Entourage to be active and running on your computer while you are out.<\/p>\n<p>Follow the steps below to create a new rule in Entourage, which will automatically send a custom response to every message you receive while you are out of the office:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In Entourage, select Rules from the Tools menu.<\/li>\n<li>In the Rules window, select <strong>Mail (Exchange)<\/strong> from the <strong>New<\/strong> drop-down menu.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Rule name<\/strong> field, type &#8220;Out of Office&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>If<\/strong> section select <em>if all criteria are met<\/em> from the <strong>Execute<\/strong> drop-down menu.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>If<\/strong> section ensure that <em>All messages<\/em> is selected in the second drop-down menu.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Then<\/strong> section choose <em>Reply<\/em> from the first drop-down menu. Click the <strong>Reply Text&#8230;<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Reply Text<\/strong> window, type in the message you wish to send as an auto reply.<\/li>\n<li>Click the <strong>OK<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<li>Deselect <em>Do not apply other rules to messages that meet these criteria<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <em>Enabled<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Click the <strong>OK<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Follow the steps below to turn off the custom out-of-office rule in Entourage:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In Entourage, go to the Tools menu, and click Rules.<\/li>\n<li>In the Rules window, click Mail (Exchange).<\/li>\n<li>To disable the Out of Office rule, uncheck the box next to it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Sending Out of Office reply in Entourage 2004 by <\/strong><strong><strong><\/strong><\/strong><strong>Using a third party application<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Download the donationware <em>Out Of Office<\/em> application and use it to set the <em>Out of Office<\/em> message from a Mac OS X 10.4 computer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do you know how to configure &#8216;Out-of-Office&#8217; replies in Entourage 2004?
