We hope you are enjoying our services.<\/p>\n<p>Many of our customers have enquired with us about how to perform a printer redirection on Windows while using a virtual desktop. Users have often bumped into issues while trying to use printers with a Remote Desktop Connection. Here&#8217;s some help for you perform Remote Desktop printer redirection.<\/p>\n<h2>Using Printer with Virtual Desktop<\/h2>\n<h3>What will you need?<\/h3>\n<p>You will need a printer along with the credentials for your Virtual Desktop. Please refer to out email with subject line \u201cWelcome Email.\u201d Ensure that you are able to send out a print command to your printer through your local machine.<\/p>\n<h3>Instructions:<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"list-style: square;\">\n<li>Click on the Windows Button and search for <b>Remote Desktop<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Navigate to the &#8220;<b>Local Resources<\/b>&#8221; tab on the Remote Desktop Connection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/apps4rent.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/printer-24.gif\"><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style: square;\">\n<li>Under <b>Local devices and resources<\/b>, tick the <b>Printers<\/b> tab.<\/li>\n<li>Go to the General tab and click on <b>Save<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Enter your credentials and click on <b>Connect<\/b>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You should be able to send a print command through your Virtual Desktop. Take a test printout.<\/p>\n<p>If this does not work troubleshoot with the Print Spooler. What is Print Spooler?<\/p>\n<p>Follow the steps below to access the Print Spooler.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style: square;\">\n<li>Press the start button and \u2018R\u2019 to access the Run window.<\/li>\n<li>Type <b>services.msc<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/apps4rent.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/printer-in-vdi-1.png\"><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style: square;\">\n<li>Click on <b>OK<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Scroll down to Print Spooler in the Name column.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/apps4rent.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/printer-in-vdi-2.png\"><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style: square;\">\n<li>Check the status on <b>Print Spooler<\/b> to make sure the service is running.<\/li>\n<li>If the service is not running, right-click on the <b>Print Spooler<\/b> and click <b>Start<\/b>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/apps4rent.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/RD-printer-redirection.gif\"><\/p>\n<p>Perform these steps on both your local and virtual desktop.
