Microsoft Office 365 is a subscription-based model that includes all the regular Microsoft productivity applications like Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, OneNote and Publisher. It also features other web-based software including Lync (now known as Skype for Business), Business Class email Exchange, and OneDrive, the cloud storage.

Note that the Microsoft productivity applications mentioned above are also available as a live stream – just connect to the internet through any device, access them online, and work as you normally would on a Desktop. All upgrades, updates, and patches to Office 365 are automatically done by Microsoft in the background, ensuring that you always have the latest software.

Office 365 is designed to work with the latest version of Office, Office 2019, and Office 2016 for Mac. The previous versions of MS Office may work with Office 365 with reduced functionality. If you have ancient versions before 2010, you will need to update to a newer version of Office in order to use Office 365, or you can subscribe to one of the many Office 365 plans that include the latest version of Office. In addition to getting the latest version of Office as part of your subscription, you will also get automatic updates, so your Office will always be up to date.

When you want to upgrade, you can easily transition your account to a better plan. For instance, you can upgrade from an Office 365 Business plan to an Office 365 Enterprise plan.
